Vivid Dance started as a team of professional dance artists and husband and wife team, Simon & Zubaidah Moore. They have a background in performing, teaching and researching. Over the years the team has been reduced by 1 member, as Simon has left the world of dance to be leading the life of a school teacher instead.

Based in the north east of England, I offer a range of possibilities for schools and community groups to get involved in dance and movement. Whether you’re a school looking for support in delivering dance within the PE curriculum, in the form of CPD for teaching staff, want to give your learners a different spin on the topic covered at that time, just want a fun one off dance workshop or weekly after school dance club, look no further.

Vivid Dance was founded in 1999 by Simon in the Cheshire area where he taught in education and community settings in collaboration with other dance artists. He then relocated to the northeast to be a founding member of teesvalleydance, an educational dance theatre company. This is where he met Zubaidah, then Saëbu, who joined the company in 2005.

Restructuring in 2012 due to funding cuts, meant teesvalleydance wasn’t continuing with its performances and educational projects. Simon & Zubaidah were offered the opportunity to continue any of the work, so they decided to pick up Vivid Dance, now with Zubaidah as a partner.

Jumping to the present, Zubaidah is now the only person you’ll deal with as mentioned previously, whilst Simon is educating the children of the future.

Next to the educational work, you’ll find Zubaidah in several gyms delivering Zumba, Clubbercise and Aquafit classes.
